"Art of Drawing" Tuition with Stella Shaw, 2018

Would you love to be able to draw well? To depict people, places or things easily? To record your travels or family life? Drawing is a great way to stop and notice the world around you, express yourself and discover your artistic talent. Are you short of the time or flexibility in your schedule to attend a class? Perhaps you have a busy career, or have young children, and are looking for flexible creative time for yourself? Are you approaching retirement and wish to develop a fulfilling new pastime? Do you know someone who would enjoy a one-to-one drawing class as a special gift?
I am a drawing teacher experienced in working with both adults and older children. I offer hour-long drawing one-to-one tutorials, where I can assess your skills and tailor exercises to strengthen your drawing and help you to develop your ideas and talents. These short intensive sessions can take place at an agreed venue, at or close to your home or work-place. I will introduce enjoyable ways to train your eyes observe the world more deeply, and simple starting points using line, light and shade and techniques for accurate depiction. Initially you will work towards mastering simple methods using soft pencils, fine-liner pens and a sketch-book. I will help you compose your subjects using both real objects or photos as starting points. We will work from your own interests, which you can expand on later, as your time allows. If you would like to find out more or to discuss how to book a taster session with me, please email your query using the email contact page. To see prices, please refer to the bookings page.
